Baked Tofu #2

If you want to get someone to top up their bowl with more rice, it is this dish. It is also a perfect complement to salads and noodles. When I was making this, I thought of how versatile it is and it is only takes 4 ingredients.

Ingredients 🌶
- 500g firm tofu (try to get out as much liquid as you can)
- 4 tbsps chilli oil (or you can even use sambal for this!)
- 3 tsp Hoisin sauce (or any sweetener) [Totally optional]
- 2 tbsps sesame oil

Method🥢
1. Preheat the oven to 180C.
2. (I love this step) Freeze tofu and squeeze out all the liquid. The tofu will have a ‘meatier’ texture and it will absorb the marinade/sauce better.
3. Cut the tofu into cubes.
4. Toss the tofu in the sesame oil in a bowl and let the tofu absorb it for 15 minutes.
5. Add in the chilli oil and sugar to coat each cube.
6. Bake for 15 minutes or until it turns crispy and crimson on the outside. Serve over warm rice!
