Lime Herb Buttered Octopus

The one time I came home with a large octopus tentacle and it was my first time ever cooking octopus so here’s a very simple recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 500g octopus

  • 2 tbsp butter

  • 1 tbsp oregano (or any herb you like)

  • 1 lime zest and its juice (you can use lemon too)

  • A sprig of thyme

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Steps:

  1. Clean the octopus and boil it in water for 20 - 25 minutes. Cook until tender. This depends on how thick the octopus is.

  2. In a hot pan or grill, add the butter, herb, lime zest and juice.

  3. Cook the octopus until it is covered in the zesty herbed butter and add a sprig of thyme.

  4. Add salt and pepper to taste.
